Diocletian, the last of the military-appointed emperors and a great reformer of the imperial constitution, is associated with one of the finest examples of public bath construction: the Baths of Diocletian, whose remains are still visible today near Termini Station. They could accommodate up to 3,000 people and were intended for the residents of the Viminale, Quirinale, and Esquilino districts.
